PAFTE brings back history at Rizal's birth place

Date Posted: Dec. 12, 2024

The Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators (PAFTE) National Board and Regional chairs had a great opportunity to visit Rizal's house in Calamba, Laguna and the significant and historic church where he was baptized that are now declared UNESCO heritage and national shrine. They also took a glimpse of the world tallest Rizal monument erected at the Calamba Coliseum. The said activity was considered as both historical tour and pilgrimage, while remembering our distinct history and tracing our roots for learning, cultural appreciation and personal reflection. This has been part of the said organization's social and educational engagement that goes beyond academic operation and classroom learning. The said tour was arranged, coordinated and managed by the City College of Calamba, an institutional member, thru OIC-Pres. Dr. Ronald Gonzales, board officer. At the end, everyone went home full of learning opportunities, wonderful experience and strong relationship through this professional engagement.
