Limay Polytechnic College (LPC) on Friday, welcomed benefactors from Mitsumi Philippines, a long time growing existing international electronics industry in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), formerly Bataan Export Processing Zone (BEPZ) for a partnership through their company'a corporate social responsibility with LPC, November 14.
Company representatives Ms. Lee Elen Barrantes, senior supervisor for Safety and Ms. Joan Alda, part of the line supervisory team and an LPC alumna discussed with Pres. Dr. Elmer De Leon their agenda on Mental Health Program, internship accommodation for business, accountancy and technology students.
In fact, the discussion led to the finalization of the conduct of mental health and wellness seminar for students, in coordination with Mr. Dominic Primero, RGC, Guidance and Testing director which was set to be conducted on November 27 schedule.
Hence the said company will provide the resource facilitators, food and free certificates for the participants, while LPC will take charge of the selection of student participants, plaques for the resource speakers, the venue arrangement and needed equipment for the program.
Likewise, Dr. De Leon appealed for possible internship opportunity among business, accountancy and technology interns, which the counterpart affirmed and approved, including company visit of faculty and students.
Ms. Barrantes also mentioned that they chose LPC for some equipment, devices and electronics machinery that they will donate, in addition to an emergency risk management and safety training that they can conduct to LPC with their Safety Management Team.
The elated president acknowledged Mitsumi Philippines, thru its Japanese general manager Mr. Yoshitaka Kitahara for such gesture of generosity and social responsibility to LPC.
Very much timely, Dr. De Leon invited the group to the LPC Sparkle Gala Night to receive plaque of appreciation from the institution as its gratitude and partnership bond.
To date, memorandum of understanding will be done on November 27 simultaneously with the mental health seminar for students, while delivery of donated items will be scheduled immediately when the vehicle provided by LPC gets ready.
The latter also invited LPC officials and committed to assist them in connecting with the FAB for integration visit and courtesy meetings with investors and high officials.
Also present in the said discussion meeting were department heads Ms. April Cruz (academic director), Dr. John Levy Rueda, Ms. Cheyser Charrese Gatchula and Ms. Rodalie Dineros for education, business and accountancy, technology and technical-vocational; with Mr. Primero, (Guidance and Testing director) and Mr. Mark Anthony Banda (QUALITI officer).
The visitors were toured at LPC campus and showed the student biz hub and fineries emporium that they appreciated and committed to take part by sharing preloved corporate attires.
The said endeavor responds to LPC's public-private partnership opportunity this time with foreign industry investors in the country toward internationalization effort. #
