Limay Polytechnic College (LPC), in collaboration with the Municipality of Limay, the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Philippine National Police (PNP), conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction and Basic First Aid Training at the LPC Audio Visual Room, November 20. College President Dr. Elmer B. De Leon, during his welcoming remarks, emphasized that the event was not merely about compliance but also a vital preparation to save lives. Moreover, De Leon announced the launch of twelve (12) committees aimed at addressing the institution’s commitment to sustainable development goals in collaboration with local government units and partner agencies. Meanwhile, Senior Fire Officer 1 Jacquelyn Artates provided a discussion on basic terminologies and essential knowledge for handling emergency situations, with a strong emphasis on safety. On the other hand, the BFP demonstrated various basic first aid responses, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), cravat techniques for different situations, and various carrying methods, which attendees actively participated in. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to attendees and an expression of appreciation for the Bureau of Fire Protection. Report by Selina Rosalina Regalado.
