Limay Polytechnic College, through the Department of Business and Accountancy, initiated a business enterprise by establishing a partnership with Barangay Alangan, which allowed its training center to serve as a temporary production facility.
An initial meeting was scheduled with Hon. Teresita Dela, Rea Chairwoman, and concurrently the President of Limay Association of Barangay Captains was set by Dr. John Levy Rueda, head of DBA, Ms. Julie Diaz, coordinator of Community Development, and Ms. Rizzalyn Hussein, faculty member at the Barangay Hall on January 12.
It was discussed in the meeting matters concerning the business production at the said facility and involving the barangay residents in the production process. A memorandum of understanding will be transacted for this purpose.
Notably, the business enterprise has now been established utilizing the grant provided by the Department of Agriculture following LPC's championship win in the Regional Young Farmers Intercollegiate Challenge (YFIC). As mandated in the policy, the latter needs to submit a monthly accomplishment report to monitor the proposed business operation process.
Currently, a series of meetings is being held for the purpose of starting up the business with a feasibility study and business plan as guide in the process to ensure the right actions, sufficient raw material supplies, and a sustainable turn-out to be in place. This is also set toward cost-efficient operation and return on investment mechanisms. #
